The Bala and North Wales area is packed with activities for thrill-seekers. This includes the world-famous Zip World, Tryweryn White Water Rafting, Surf Snowdonia, and many more only a short drive away. See our “Things to do” page for more information and inspiration.

If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing few days away, you can relax in our beautiful and peaceful site and take in the scenery and the fresh, crisp air of the Snowdonia National Park. Or you can always pop up the road for a spa day and a massage!

    New for 2022

We’ve been busy over the winter and have developed many areas of the park.

We’ve upgraded 9 of our touring pitches to be fully serviced and spaciously landscaped. All these extra-large pitches have private water, wastewater, and electric connections, right next to the pitch.

We have partnered with Isabella Awnings and Love 2 Stay to site 3 new luxury tents sited on our Glampio Gelli Glamping area. All 3 tents have fitted kitchens, a private decking area, and private parking.

Our toilet block has been completely revamped as well. We’ve replaced the roof, cladded the outside in canexel, added underfloor heating and totally stripped the inside.

    Pet Friendly

As a family with two springer spaniels called Del and Bella, a cat, horses, and a few chickens, we understand how important it is that our 4 legged friends have a holiday as well. We welcome any well-behaved humans and their dogs on our campsite. There are many great walks, beaches, and swims in and around Bala and the Snowdonia National Park for you to explore. Just returned home today to Liverpool having spent the last 5 nights at Pen Y Bont. Just to say a massive thanks to the owners and staff what a wonderful pleasure to meet lovely friendly people who made me feel very welcome. The site is perfect and is in a great location. Very clean and tidy. I have been camping in Wales for over 20 years both on my own and with mates and can honestly say this is the best site I have stayed on. Will definitely be back if you will have me. Oh even the owners dog is great. Please feel free to use this message as a testimonial if you wish. Thanks and best regards.

    A Perks

Hello all, just got back to Scunthorpe after 6 nights on your site, a very clean, pretty, and well maintained place in an outstandingly beautiful area. Friendliness, helpfulness, and knowledge, certainly went a long way to making our stay a really good one. The only issue I had with Pen y Bont was, I had to come home. Many thanks.

A big thank you all for making our first summer pitch booking a great success, despite the lovely Welsh rain it was warm. A great site, wonderful location, excellent facilities, and friendly helpful staff where nothing is to much trouble. What more could you ask for? One of the easiest reviews I have ever made, nothing to moan about. My wife and I wish you all the best for the future.

On behalf of our family group which stayed with you August 1st till 11th I would just like to thank all the staff who created a great atmosphere for us to have a wonderful time. The site facilities and pitches were always clean and well-kept and the location was spot on for the walks and water sports which we had hoped for. An extra + was that Bala its self was only a 10-minute walk away, very handy for the pubs, restaurants and shops. We will certainly be recommending your site to any friends visiting the area.

Just returned from our first visit to this site and we have already booked to return! A well kept site - not too big, with very clean facilities. A short walk into Bala - took us about 10 minutes with shops and pubs and plenty of places to eat and drink. We also took a trip on the railway which ran at the side of the lake. We were very fortunate with the weather and enjoyed sitting around on the site. Very nice!

Just got back from a 2 night stay in one of the new glamping tents with my little family and I can’t recommend it enough! The owner was lovely and welcoming, the tent was just perfect with everything you need from a kitchen with all the bits you need to a spacious living room and 2 bedrooms! The toilet and shower block was great very clean and all the little touches added like shampoo etc was brilliant. It’s in such a great location, not far from the lake and Snowdon and a lovely café round the corner. Can’t fault this campsite at all. Will definitely be returning.

We stayed for a family birthday for 3 nights, the site was immaculate, facilities were amazing & clean whenever we used them & the staff were amazing, couldn't do enough including setting up birthday balloons despite on very briefly mentioning our reason for staying. Will be coming back in future & would highly recommend.

Where to start. If you are looking for a an immaculate site, not overcrowded with great facilities, this is the site to book! The Site There is a small shop at reception with the food basics and camping spares & gas. The site is well laid out with generous pitches based on tent size, some with electric and some without. There are also shepherd huts and some new large tent accommodation. Pitches for caravans and motor homes. All well spaced out. The toilet and shower block is amazing! Always clean, heated floor , plenty of showers & toilets and never seemed busy. There’s hand soap, shower gel and conditioner provided and plenty of hot water. If Carlsberg did toilet blocks! This would be it! Big thanks to Janice on reception, friendly and always about checking everything is ok. Got chatting to some regulars on the site who have pitched caravans, very friendly and helpful with suggestions of where to go and what to do. There are logs for sale and fire pits that can be used off the ground. The site is nice and chilled, by 10.30 just the sound of sheep, birds and snoring campers. If you are looking for late nights up drinking this isn’t the site! This is a site for Chillin’ out and relaxing! The lake is a 10 min walk if that from the site entrance, there’s a sailing club with a café that you can launch from. Or drive through Bala ( 5 min or about 20 max walk) and there’s launching on the left with parking. ( £3.50 to launch and £3 to park). Toilets and rental available as well as a nice grass area with benches on lake shore. In Bala there’s are several pubs, a great butcher, a Bargain Booze , Spa & a CoOp. So plenty of choice. Also Indian , Chinese and a few fish & chip shops. A big thanks to the staff, a great weekend camping and hope to return soon!

We camped there for 3 nights this week. The pitch was on a very gentle slope but was easy to peg out and you can park next to your pitch. The roads on site were recently tarmacked and the caravan pitches had new slate shingle. The toilet/shower block was refurbished last year and is probably the best one I've ever seen, with 3 large showers. The block is kept impeccably clean and the bins outside are emptied regularly. It's more expensive than I'd usually pay but the site location is totally fantastic for walking, the steam railway, the water sports and the town centre. We'd never tried kayaking before but will definitely be doing it again. We were made very welcome by the regulars on site, the people of Bala and the 2 ladies who run the reception, especially Janice who is a fantastic host. Ok, if you have young kids then this is probably not the place for you as there are no ball games allowed and there's no play ground, but it was perfect for my 19 year old son and I. We've made memories that we'll treasure for many years to come!

Just had a fantastic couple of nights at this site. Beautiful kept grounds and clean facilities. The walk to the lake is 5 minutes max and about 10 minutes into town (would recommend paying the butcher a visit). All the staff on site were friendly and welcoming would highly recommend this little gem and hope to visit again soon.

I can’t speak highly enough of this campsite, everything about it was perfect including the weather ☀️! Just a few minutes walk to the lake which we spent a lot of time swimming and paddle boarding in. The washing area was kept very clean and tidy and the two ladies in the shop were so friendly and lovely, taking time out of their day to share local tips of places to visit. One of the highlights apart from the lake was the white water rafting we did which was a 3 min drive away and also the meat delivery the campsite arrange delivery for! The sausages and chicken kebabs were to die for, so much better quality than supermarket bought ones. Everyone we came across on the campsite was friendly and respectful, no rowdy groups and everyone seemed to be quiet after 10.30pm, had some of my best nights sleep ever which is unusual when sleeping in a tent! Would definitely return with our family.

Immaculately kept and friendly site. The toilet and showers were always clean as was the washing up areas. Good sized pitches so you weren't overlooked. Great location with a gate from the site leading on to the coastal path. The owners were happy to advise on places to visit and eat. We will definitely return and would recommend the site.

Great campsite with fantastic views. A cheeky last minute bank holiday getaway turned into a great staycation. Fantastic clean facilities and the site is lovely and quiet after 10.30pm. A 10 minute walk alongside the lake in the evening takes you straight into the heart of the village which has all the shops, pubs & takeaways you will need. The campsite is in a beautiful setting and great for access to all the Snowdonia sites.

Me, my partner and my 2 year old daughter had a wonderful time staying in The Branwen Lodge last weekend. The location was beautiful and we had stunning views of the sunset in the evenings. There was a fully equipped BBQ hut right beside the cabin which was very convenient. The lodge itself was modern, spacious and in immaculate condition. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming from the minute we booked, we highly recommend a stay here! The perfect getaway!
