IT’S PUMPKIN SEASON!

HALLOWEEN FUN @ PEN Y BONT!

We have lots of exciting Halloween fun planned for Halloween this year!

🦇 We will be decorating the site to get into the ‘spirit’ of things!

🎃 Our pumpkin carving contest will return this year, with a fantastic prize for the winner! They will then be used to decorate the site for the spooky season!

👻 Decorate your creepy caravan, monstrous motorhome or terrifying tent – we would love to see you get creative and add some spooky-themed accessories!

🍬 Trick or Treaters welcome at Reception between 4-5pm on 31st October. We will also be providing posters that can be displayed outside your caravan if you too are willing to accept trick or treaters

🎨 Themed colouring sheets are available from Reception – perfect for those rainy days!

REMEMBER – we love seeing photos of your stay with us ~ tag us in your photos (@penybont_bala) or email them to us (balalakecamping@gmail.com) so that we can share them on our social media pages!

EASTER BONNET COMPETITION AT PEN Y BONT!

25th March – 31st March

Hop on over to Reception and pick up your Easter bonnet for just £1 and then decorate with an Easter theme (or go rogue; how about a Welsh themed bonnet or one with a camping theme?)

Entries accepted 25th-31st March and judging will take place at 12pm on 31st March at Reception.

EASTER EGG HUNT AT BALA LAKE RAILWAY!

Come and join in the fun at the Bala Lake Railway this Easter. Can you find all the Easter eggs that are hidden along the line and at the station and solve the puzzle?

There’s a yummy chocolatey prize for every child, and you might even get to meet the White Rabbit.

The Easter Egg Hunt is included free with your normal train ticket.

Why not visit the food fair as well as the fun fair? Also happening on Wednesday 25th October – visit Canolfan Bro Tegid to peruse a selection of cakes, bread, wine, local honey, ice cream and much more – a perfect half term activity!

PUMPKIN CARVING COMPETITION!

Be in with a chance of winning a 2 night stay in one of our Isabella Glamping tents (for up to 5 guests) next year! Bring your carved pumpkin to us between now and 31st October, along with a name and contact number to enter our competition. They will then be used to decorate the site for the spooky season!

AFTERNOON TEA PICNICS!

We have teamed up with Dawn from Little Boo who makes the most gorgeous Afternoon Tea Picnics! These can be delivered to site and set up in your caravan, on one of our picnic benches or even on a picnic blanket at the edge of Bala Lake… You can choose to have them set up using proper china cups and saucers or chose more of a picnic-style option, in little boxes to take on your travels!

The Big Bala Swim

Saturday 28th May 2022 sees the return of The Big Bala Swim taking place in Llyn Tegid, Bala.

The main open water swim route is 4.5km. To reach the start, swimmers catch the historic Bala Lake Railway to Llangower train station for a beach start. For those looking for a bigger challenge, there is a 9km swim which takes in two lengths of the 4.5km course. There is also a shorter 1.5km swim which is also open to children of 8 years and above.

Pen Y Bont is the ideal base for competitors and spectators alike and we wish everybody taking part the best of luck!
